• PC Gesture Control

  

  This video shows that we can control our PC with gestures via kinect and programs. But one defect is that, one meter away from Kinect is required.

  For examples:

  • We can use the thumb and index finger of right hand to move the cursor in the screen
  • The action of right index finger bends means left click, and straightening it means to release
  • Bending right thumb means right click, straighten means to release
  • The action of opening hand means no operations on mouse
  • Fist means to hold something, for instance, which can use to move the window
  • We can use the index fingers of both hands at the same time to scroll the page in front (e.g. we browse some web pages)
  • At last we can zoom by using the thumbs and index fingers both hands at the same time

• Intelligent Computer Guard

  

  This video shows that we can set up a guard in our PC:
  We use Kinect to sense user's information, if the user goes away from the PC, our PC guard will lock the PC. If the authorized user sits at the computer, the PC will unlock soon. And if the unidentified user sits at the computer, it will not unlock, unless the user does some special gesture which defined before.

• Virtual Dressing

  

  What we want to do is similar with the website named "LookLet". But the model will be replaced with the user.

  Our application is a perceptual interaction program, which enables computer to sense the position, movement and distance of head to camera, and project accessories dynamically to the head according to the information. Which means it can simulate the image or a man/woman dresses a particular hat, earing, glasses etc…

  It can be used in some online shopping, where people do not know if this particular item fit his/her face. Meanwhile, it can create some image for fun uses, maybe funnier than those 2-dimentional based photos using certain frame.
